Ideal Recipe For Lasagna

– 1 pound (approximately 450g) lean ground beef – 1/2 pound (around 225g) sweet Italian sausage, casings removed – 1 finely chopped onion – 2 cloves of minced garlic – 2 cans (28 ounces each) crushed tomatoe – 2 cans (6 ounces each) tomato paste – 2 cans (15 ounces each) tomato sauce – 1/2 cup water – 2 teaspoons sugar

Ingredients: 

– 2 teaspoons dried basil leave – 1/2 teaspoon salt – 1/4 teaspoon black pepper – 3 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley – 12 lasagna noodles, cooked according to package instruction – 4 cups shredded mozzarella cheese – 1 1/2 cups grated Parmesan cheese – 2 cups ricotta cheese – 1 beaten egg

Preheat the oven: Set the oven to 375°F (190°C).

In a large skillet, cook the ground beef and sausage over medium heat until browned.

Combine ricotta cheese, beaten egg, and one cup of Parmesan cheese in a bowl. Mix well.

Place a layer of cooked lasagna noodles on top. Spread half of the ricotta cheese mixture over the noodles, followed by a third of the shredded mozzarella cheese.

Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes.

Allow the lasagna to rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing. This helps the layers set and makes it easier to serve.

If desired, garnish with fresh basil leaves. Serve slices of lasagna with a side of garlic bread or a green salad.
